Superlative:
Best/Worst Costuming Choice: Eye squint + topknot
Our Reviews:
The worse of the two Nic Cage "I used to be a Crusader" movies. Woof.
I was hoping this movie might redeem Hayden Christensen after the Star Wars prequels. It did not, with flying colors. There was also not nearly enough Nicolas Cage. That said, Nic's apparent choice to just squint his one eye shut real hard instead of wearing a prosthetic or eye patch to signify that he was missing said eye was a stroke of genius.
Argh...! I be in China and lost me aye, I mean eye, after I was a crusader and didn't want to kill anymore [see plot of Season of the Witch]. Now I fight for whiskey, or something! Topknot!
Finally, a vehicle to bring Anakin Skywalker back so he could brood and be righteously indignant about things but older. This movie was great because it had the important lesson: any time white guys fight Asians in a movie they always EVENTUALLY win.
Hayden Christensen, undeterred by his Star Wars reviews, reminds us that white savior crusaders are always the good guys in case we forgot from Season Of The Witch. Also, Nic Cage seemed to have trouble remembering that his character had a squint.
